New TLD application system could re-open on May 22nd
Back in April ICANN took the application system for new top level domain names offline, following a technical glitch. It’s reported that ICANN is now aiming to re-open the system, known as TAS on May 22nd. . ICANN anticipate that the system will remain open for a further 5 days and close on 30th May.
It hasn’t yet been reveled if any of the applications was affected by the cause of the closure.
When all applications for the new top level domain names are received, it is expected that ICANN will have received more than 2300 applications. No date has yet been given for when the applications are to be revealed.
